9 Years of Love and Counting

♥ "An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow." ~Author Unknown
9 years ago today I was getting ready to marry my best friend in front of all our friends and family.  :)  There is not a single day I have regretted that choice.  As is paraphrased in Song of Solomon 3:4, "I have found the one whom my soul loves."  Happy 9 Years today to my husband who is absolutely my best friend and love. I could not imagine going this journey without ya.  Hmmm I think we're only getting better. ;)

Update on Hannah Banana

Cousins and 2nd cousins at my aunty's house
So for those who don't yet know what happened, Hannah had an injury/accident while we were at my aunt's house the other night.  She climbed on their treadmill that was up against the wall and somehow managed to get it going pretty fast (as fast as a roller coaster she said.) and it kicked her back into the wall and pinned her down in between the wall and the still going treadmill.  How exactly she got injured like she did I'm not sure, except that it seems she got her arms and leg pinned down underneath it and a result got major skin burns on the insides of both her arms and down one shin and then pretty meaty hunky pieces taken out of the palms of both her hands, along with a bunch of little pieces of skin burned/scraped off here and there.  So thanks to my cousin, we got her all bandaged up (after MUCH screaming) and she perked up.  Since then I had to change out the bandages. (yesterday) When I called my Mom in law to tell her what had happened and to ask if she could pray for me because I knew this was not going to be an easy task, she decided to drive down that night and come hang out and help.  Well thank goodness she did!  It took the help of a movie and her holding Hannah still/down and about an hour and a half of screaming and panicking and crying and we got it accomplished.  We have stocked up on non-stick gauze pads and humongous, flexible, fabric bandages and cloth tape etc...The next several bandage changes shouldn't be so excruciating although as Hannah goes if you even look at one of her owies she has a major flip out.  She definitely hurts...the meaty scrapes on her hands are rather nasty and she's been rather down and out for the last few days, but Gramma has proved to be a good distraction and a MAJOR help and I am really grateful she's here right now.  :)  We have such wonderful family.  I think the hands will take the longest to heal and will be hard as they are right where you would grab things or where your hand gets the most use, but as deep and raw as the shin and arms are those seem to be healing rather well.  Which this mama is thankful for.  On the way home Wednesday night Abby says to Hannah: "Hannah, you were crying so much and you are my buddy and I love you but...but WHY!?  Why did you turn it on!?  (hahaha) TO which Hannah kept replying, "Well I was curious!"  She refers to the treadmill as the "shredmill."  (This was not intentional, it's just what her mind thought we said it was called!) So I am hoping every day she gets a little bit braver and less down and out...but I sure am thankful for all our lovely family that have been concerned or come to help.

Butterflies

Awhile back my mom bought the girls a butterfly kit, where you order the caterpillars and watch them slowly transform into eventual butterflies and then you can release them.  The girls have been asking every week if it's time to do it yet, but I didn't want to order the caterpillars and be gone on vacation somewhere or have them come while we were gone etc...
Since I've taken some time to be closer to home and slow down I thought now is as good a time as any.  So over the last few weeks we've been watching these caterpillars move around and eat and get to their chrysalis stage.  A few days ago they all came out beautiful butterflies and yesterday seemed like the perfect day to let them go.  The girls had a blast!  The last one took his time leaving and when he finally did was the ONLY one that landed on one of our many sunflowers in the backyard, parking himself for a good part of the afternoon.  It was very fun!
