Hannah Girl

What a cutie. One of my favorite things about having children is being able to watch their personalities develop before my eyes. I love seeing who Hannah becomes as she figures out her likes and dislikes etc...and becomes more of a little person.
Hannah has a marvelous sense of humor and is always making me laugh. She has this great ability to in one moment make you crazy and giggle all at the same time. Last night as I was tucking her into bed and praying with her, she said something that got us both giggling and for 20 minutes we couldn't stop laughing. (We got totally busted by daddy when I didn't come back out of the room in the time I normally do!) She is a LOT of fun to be around. I really enjoy her. She's a tough nut to crack sometimes, but man she is great fun. She's a great combination of girly meets rough and tumble. She loves princess movies and dressing up and all that, but if you give her the chance she'll be out in the dirt digging for worms in that beautiful dress she's picked out herself. No questions asked. (I like to think we help almost single-handedly support the makers of Shout and Spray-n-Wash!)
She really loves playing "baseball" right now (we have a T-ball set she loves to play with). The other day we were outside playing, and she found a little salamander crawling around. It took her a couple minutes of poking at it and talking to it before she thought to ask if she could pick it up. After that they were inseparable! She decided to name him Duncan (no idea where that came from!) and carried him everywhere! I got a few good pictures of that! She was very sad when he had to go back home to the woods. I believe she'll be the girl you'll have to check the pockets of when she comes in from outside. I love it! I was that kind of kid, except I don't think I was every really into overly dressy dresses. I was never a fluff and poof kind of girl. The fact that Hannah loves these kinds of things as well makes her love for outdoors and bugs and dirt and animals even more smile worthy.
She is also a marvelous big sister. We're still working on not being to smothery with Abby Sister, but she loves her so very much! She's extremely concerned if we are out and people are holding Abby. She wants to know where she is at all times and who has her and why. She's gone as far to mention that, "That isn't her baby!!" when another family member was snuggling on Abby. I am really hopeful that Abby and Hannah become good friends. Hannah is already so protective of her. She makes a wonderful older sister. I see her being the sister that sticks up for her younger siblings. I asked her last night if she thought we should have another baby sometime later. She gave this great thought and said..."ummm ya. But....a SISTER! No brother." haha I actually would love that. I think it would be great fun to have three girls! (Somewhere Adam is uttering a silent scream!) I have two sisters and they are my best friends. We are all so different but so much alike at the same time and I have the best time with them when we're together. They are two of my most favorite people in this world. And being an older sister to them I constantly feel protective of them. I used to HATE it when people would call them the twins when we were younger because if you took anytime to talk to them at all you knew almost immediately they were two completely different people.
So only time will tell if we'll add another. I go back and forth every day. But Hannah and now Abby definitely make me think I would love to see another baby's personality develop and have in our family.

Lil Conversations...With Gram

This is a conversation Hannah and my mom had on Sunday. To give you a little background info before giving you the conversation, Hannah and another little boy @ church, who is a little older than her, are in the nursery together almost every Sunday. Many times it is just the two of them in there on Sundays and they happen to have very similar personalities. They both egg each other on and love to antagonize one another. Many times things end in violence between them, with one undoubtedly hauling offand hitting the other. I love that the woman who usually runs the nursery isn't afraid to put Hannah in time out...because Lord knows she needs it at times! Oddly she can play wonderfully with his older brother who's about 5!
Hannah to Gram after church on Sunday: Gramma!!! I went to church!....and...I hit someone!Gram: What!? You hit someone?
Hannah: Yes! ...and..I got a time-out for it.
Gram: But Hannah why? You know we don't hit people that's not ok! Why did you hit?
Hannah: I just. Well. He just wouldn't do what I wanted him to!
