A Thank You....

I have been thinking lots lately about several people and how grateful I am for those people who have been a constant in my life no matter which point they entered my life at. The last year, especially in the begining was super hard for me because of several things that eventually led to us living with my parents. Which is not a bad thing. I love my parents and it's been great for them to see so much of Hannah and they've been such a huge help! But I think no matter who you are, facing coming back to this point is a hard thing. For some harder than others...I had a lot of things going on and after we moved I think I got really depressed. I didn't realize it at first but after a few months of feeling so blah about everything I think I realized what was going on. There were several things that happened towards the end of last year that made me really thankful I am surrounded by the people I am. Helping a friend out with his music was huge in helping me feel better and deciding I didn't have to be so down on myself about everything, and Adam and I making the decision to improve what we had together all have helped.
But I wanted to take a minute and thank my friends. I know... it's all sappy and touchy feely, but I am really thankful for you guys!
For those of you who don't have kids but have been completely understanding that my time just isn't what it used to be and are ok with that. For calling me and asking if we can get together and not feeling blown off when it can't happen but for still making the effort and being an available friend! I am thankful for you because no matter who you are and how many kids you have...you still will always need friends and people. So thank you for continuing to be my girls even when we don't see each other that often.
And thank you to my friends that are moms that completely understand what I'm going through in each moment...and even though life is crazy and we only have a few minutes here and there to connect, thank you for your sound advice and warm comments and friendship you extend knowing how it is. Thank you for my friends that aren't close enough to get together with on a regular basis but are ok with a lengthy or short conversation when we can fit it in. Thank you for understanding that I hate the phone and it's even worse when you have a child wanting something every 10....
It's been hard too because many of you we'd have over for dinner, or BBQ or games or movies, we obviously haven't been able to extend that since living up here in the boonies with our parents. The hope is we will be able to move soon and that will definitely start up again! But I really wanted to thank you who have stuck around and extend friendship even when we might only see each other occasionally. You are honestly the best kind of friends to have. The ones you can pick up with right where you left off before and not feel like much time has passed...even though much has. So thank you...I really am very thankful for you.

Oh ya...

Baby #2 is on the way....it's still early. I'm only 9 weeks. But I've been so sick that enough people have guessed or I've had to tell them because of having to cancel plans. (I'm very sorry!) We're due sometime in February. Unless we have another one 5 weeks early...then I suppose that would be in January. We're really excited but I think there's been so much going on and we've been there once before so it's really been downplayed. On many levels though I feel like I should be farther than 9 weeks along! We'll go days without saying much about it...other than how sick I've been feeling. So it's been funny to have a completely relaxed view about this one and of people finding out. So if I haven't called to tell you personally...I'm sorry. I've been stuck indoors sick most days and am hoping it gets better soon! Cause Hannah's goin stir crazy! :)

Our Hannah...

I can't believe we are only a couple months away from this little girl turning two! Although I think if you didn't know her birthday was in October you might assume she was already two the way she acts and talks. It has been such an immense joy to watch her and her little personality develop. I still hear most people say she looks so much like Adam...and they're right! But in the last several months I catch looks or glimpses of me occassionally as well. She is so lovable and fun. Her love for people has not been lost. You take her anywhere there is people and she thrives. She's shy to an extent but once she warms up WATCH OUT! :) She's got a mischevious sense of humor...which she was bound to get since both sides of her family have that "up to no good" quality about them. :)
It's also been interesting to see personality and character things that you just KNOW are going to stick with her. And some of those are things Adam recognizes in himself...and some I recognize in me. And most are ok. For instance, Hannah, as it's become more and more obvious, is a perfectionist. I think she has incredibly high expectations of herself. She hesitates to make mistakes or fail and if that does happen she takes it out physically on herself. Which is hard to watch. But...it's something I recognize in myself. (And in my father) It's something I'm going to have to work at talking her down from. I want her to know that it's ok to fail and make mistakes! That's what life is about, it's part of what makes us who we are. And that needing people and asking for help or not having it perfect is really ok once in awhile...and then I should take the advice I'm giving her. :) It may seem silly to see this in a toddler...but there's SO much I see in her. She's got her daddy's attention span...(I realize she's a toddler but it's hilarious some days to watch her get distracted 10 times on her way to one task the same way her daddy does!) She's got a great heart and dishes out kisses and hugs a lot! She does great at kidding around but if she sees you're upset she immediately gets concerned and wants to hug you.
She is a wonderful little girl. We are having a blast with her!! My personal hope is that whoever this next little person is in baby #2 that they can hold their own. Hannah needs a brother or sister to knock her down a few pegs some days but one who can be her friend too. And that's my prayer for baby #2. That God create a good counter-part and friend to who Hannah is.

Summer Pictures

My cousin Diandra comes up every summer to visit her gramma who just happens to be not too far from where we are! She's been working hard at getting her photography business going down in California and is doing phenomenal! She graciously took time out of her vacation to come take pictures of all three of us and then some of my brother and his family as well. (THANK YOU DIANDRA!) They turned out great and I'm super excited to start using them and printing them out. Here are a couple she took of Hannah....I'll post more that she took later when I see that she's posted some on her blog.
