I think summer is coming to a close...it has been rather cold and iffy the last week or so...here are some of my favorite last summer moments captured:

More Lil Conversations and Kiddo Funnies
This month has been packed with funny conversations that I don't want to forget! :)
Apparently Hannah has an alter ego. Or "my other person" as she calls it. Her name is Mrs. Pickles and she moonlights as a librarian. She is only this person when she dons her spectacles and purple scarf. When in this mode you may NOT call her Hannah. She won't answer.
Hannah must be on a heaven kick. I think she's been talking about it a lot in Sunday School with Miss Heather. So she asks me:
Hannah: Mom, do they have toys in heaven?
Me: (extremely tired at this point) Ummm...ya know I'm gonna say no.
Hannah: What!? Why!? What will I play with then!?
Me: I dunno, I don't think we'll be too worried about that, there'll be lots of people to see and play with.
Hannah: Ok then, like what would we do together?
Me: Ummm...play ball together ya know...stuff like that
Hannah: (after a big pause) Um...Mom....ya know, balls are toys.
Ha! She got me there!!
Yesterday Hannah got out of the bathtub and was doing her normal hyper running about the house before getting her pajamas on (we long ago stopped chasing her...it only prolongs it) when she brought me a book and asked me to read it. I calmly told her I don't read to naked people. So she went and got dressed.
This morning I walked into Abby's room to find all her stuff out of her crib (again!) including her pajamas! She held out a book for me to read to her and I said, "Ok well let's get this back on ya right quick." To which Hannah adds, "Ya Abby, she doesn't read to naked people ya know!"

Lil Conversations
Hannah crawled in bed with me a few mornings ago and here is the conversation that she immediately starts in with:
Hannah: I've never seen a robin before. Maybe sometime you should point one out to me so I know what one looks like.
Me: Ummm hmm
Hannah: Do robins go up into robin heaven or everyone else heaven with us?
Me: Yup. I'm positive they come with us.
Hannah: (Getting very excited!!!) Are dogs allowed in heaven too?
Me: I'm sure of it.
Hannah: Yay! ....I can't wait to see Jesus...do you think he likes pancakes? Cause I'd sure like to make him some!
Me: I'm positive he does, and he'd love it if you made him some.
Hannah: Well yay! Then I will make some for him...and I'll pull him up a chair at my table and I'll make him some pancakes with chocolate chips and-wait...does Jesus even like chocolate chips?
Me: Am sure he does.
Hannah: Ok great! And then I'll put some food coloring in it for him and make it all pretty and-wait. Do they have food coloring up there? Like all the colors we have.
Me: Sure!
Hannah: Ok well then I will put food coloring in it and whip it all up and we will have pancakes together! Doesn't that sound great mama!?
Me: Yes. It really does. :)

Lil Conversations
I had to put this down before I forget:
Hannah yesterday asks me if she can have some chapstick to put on before we go to the doctor's. Lately Abby has been finding my chapstick and digging as much as she can out with her little fingers...
Hannah:Mama can I please have some chapstick before we go?
Mama: Ya I think that will be just fine.
Hannah: Ok! Great! And Mom. I promise I won't terrorize it like Abby does.
I had to stop and give her a hug through my laughter. :)

The Plot Thickens...
So....Adam doesn't know or rather realize it yet, but Hannah is plotting. I'm not sure how it started...Hannah's mind is a crafty thing. But stories have come up regarding knees and surgery since my mom just recently had a knee replacement surgery and she remembers Adam's knee surgery from last summer and how she took care of him. She's heard before how Adam badly injured his knee while playing a game of basketball with some guys he used to play with once a week before Hannah was born, and she's asked constant questions about why her daddy stopped playing basketball, how it all happened etc etc...
Now I've told Adam since it happened and especially since he had surgery last year that if he could get past the fear of what happened to his knee it would be really good for him to get back into playing again. He loved(s) playing and it was a good way to get out and do something just for him. But I get that after something like that it's hard not to worry it will happen again, and it was an extremely painful injury for him. But now Hannah has decided he needs to play again. She's very concerned that he has not really played in years. And so it begins....
Hannah is really into sporty things anyway. I don't know what, if anything she'll get around to playing but she has currently become obsessed with all things basketball. We have several courts around where we live within walking distance and one we go to regularly has a group of guys that play together...which I think got Hannah thinking. She has noticed them playing. She has asked. She has commented that it seems like that's how daddy used to play. Soon she was asking for a regular basketball...because if we had a regular basketball daddy could come to the courts with us and we could all four play "as a team." Every time we saw anything basketball related I'd hear, "Please let's get a basketball." And since I agree with her and her mission...we bought a basketball. She slept with the basketball for a week, asking 10 times daily if we could go yet to the basketball courts with daddy. And Saturday we did. We all walked over to the playground with the courts and we played. Adam even re-enacted the fateful knee event to Hannah's glee. :) And so far...it's working. She's getting daddy back into playing and jumping and trying....she's gonna get him playing again yet. Because when Hannah sets her mind to something....you best know it's probably going to happen.
