THe Easter Hat...
I always keep an eye out for cheap dress up things since Hannah loves to put on different bracelets and shoes, accesories, hats etc...I found this around Easter time in Targets $1 bins (have I mentioned how very much I love Target!?) and Hannah wears it ALL the time. It's hilarious! Plus she looks completely adorable. But she's always doing something odd or everyday at the time she wears it which makes it even more hilarious because it's this very fancy easter hat. :)

Sidewalk Art...
Hannah's really getting into drawing so I bought some sidewalk chalk for her to play with. I MAY have had more fun than she did!
So all was fun until she tried to eat the chalk...and not because she didn't know better! (she does) She's very into testing whether I mean what I say. :) (She found out quickly...I do!)

Hannah...
So Hannah...in a couple weeks she will be 20 months...closer to turning two! I can't believe that! About 3 or so weeks ago we saw her explode! Not literally...but in every area imaginable. She's pretty much been talking like crazy since...well since her birthday but lately it's different. First of all since her 1 year appointment she has maintained a weight of 20 lbs. I have no doubt she's gained weight but she's shot up and so it just kept evening out. I don't know how much she currently weighs but I guarantee you it's more than 20 lbs. I am not kidding when I saw about 3 weeks ago I noticed it became significantly harder to lug her around for long periods at a time. It's like she became this solid little thing. She's all muscle! It's craziness! She's way sturdier on her feet and runs like a banshee everywhere she can! Her hair grew like 3 or 4 inches in this three week span! It just suddenly shot past her shoulders! I dunno there's just all these noticable physical differences and then it's like her mind grabbed hold of every word ever said and she says them. All. If there's a word she doesn't know she repeats it til she gets it by jove! And sentences! She's talking in crazy sentences and complete thoughts and it's even funnier to have a conversation with her! She's like a little girl! I look at her and see very little baby Hannah anymore (unless we're melting down then I see it. :) ) All this happened ina period of this three weeks. Normally it's much more gradual but at the end of this Adam and I looked at each and said, "What just happened!?"

I get to spend every day with her so I don't miss much. However, there are days like yesterday when even I am caught off guard by what she does and says. She loves to help me with things. Cleaning, laundry, cooking etc...and yesterday we made coffee for daddy so it would be ready for him the next day. I say to her, "Ya know we should write daddy a nice note to let him know you made this just for him." "Ya." She says very matter-of-factly. So we do.
We sit down to write daddy a note and draw a beautamous picture. So she's singing to herself as she's doing this and chatting with me and I say, "Well what else can we write on here for daddy?" She puts the pen up to her chin and says, "Hmmm. Else. Else. Somefing else. Somefing. Else." I am laughing so hard at this point and am kind of in shock. Then I say, "Yes what else should we write to daddy?" She turns to me and says, "Thinking! I'm thinking." Taps the paper with the pen and says, "Think. Think." I could not believe this! Where did she even SEE this to know to do it! I have no clue but she's ridiculous and we love her! haha She's going to be a ham this once. She'll talk to anybody. Well, almost anyone. She still shies away from guys if she doesn't know them well but she'll talk to any kid any woman...and you just never know what she's going to say.
She's a hoot. Definitely coming up on two...but she sure knows how to make the crazy days seem less crazy with one word or gigantic hug she's so great at giving!

An Update: My Day til 1:00pm
So I wrote the last post trying to give her time to put herself to sleep. She did not. She got up. She emptied her clothes out of every single drawer (I called that one) and somewhere in the mix decided to discard every stitch of clothing she had on. So I leave her to go help her calm down and find her running like a bat out of hell around a crazy looking room, naked. And here I only yesterday thought it was so adorable that she learned to take her pants off and put a different pair on. I should have known. Simple seemingly adorable things always lead to chaos later. :) But with fresh clothes and a little love she is now sleeping. I think. Unless she's gotten craftier still and is in stealth mode. Silence really IS golden my friends.
My Day til 11:30 a.m.
So...ya. Some days I feel like I have more than one kid. I know those moms with more than one kid are rolling their eyes like, "Oh you don't even KNOW!" And you're right...technically I don't! But Hannah can be really crazy sometimes....and there are days I feel like there's not enough of me to go around. And then there's today....HA! I think she was bitten last night...by some bug that caused her to wake up this morning in full form, full force full of...you know I don't even know of what!
Today started at 4:30 a.m. because she had a bad dream and woke up screaming "Mama!" and knocking on her bedroom door. So I went to her got her calmed down and put her back down to sleep. Usually this works. However, she seemed oddly alert for this time of morning. I went back to bed. She sat and talked to herself for a bit and then about an hour later decided to just sit in her bed and scream over and over. So I went to get her not wanting her to wake anyone else up! I brought her into my room. For some reason the screaming continued. Ridiculous, I have no clue what we were upset about crying and screaming. So we finally get up. I DESPERATELY needing coffee and she bouncing off the walls. At breakfast she's doing ok until one minute I'm talking to my dad and next her entire bowl of cereal and milk is upside down on the floor and she's kinda skating around in the milk. I was first inclined to think this was an accident...however, after being around her more this morning I'm begining to think this was on purpose as she's always REALLY careful with the cereal and there was no "Uh-oh or OOPS!" that followed the cereal being on the floor. Very suspicious!
So I mop up the floor and the chair and her and dad washes her feet. Ok...next I decide if she has this much energy I am going to run it all out of her. So I plan to take her swimming first thing this morning as I had previously planned before she got up at 4:30.
So I take a quick 5 minute shower. Now..my showers at this point when she's awake last NO LONGER than 5 minutes. I worry too much what she might be getting into to take longer showers than that. I left her watching Sesame Street and thought as I got out of the shower, wow that went well. She didn't come asking for me once. Then Hannah enters the bathroom. ...She somehow managed to grab the baby Vicks Vapor Rub jar I had up on the counter and unscrewed the top.
I've been trying to keep things like this out of reach lately because she's getting craftier. Somehow she got to it anyway and managed to get it open. It. Is. Everywhere. It is in her hair...on her feet...up her legs...all over her hands and on her neck and chin. At this point I'm uttering a silent prayer that she hasn't ingested any of this while also praying I don't lose it. I figure at this point she's smart enough that if something tastes icky she won't eat more than a tongue tastes worth and I figure that isn't too dangerous. I drop her in the shower. I go out to find the lid to the jar. She has coated part of the floor she was sitting on, an entire comb (this is how she got it worked into her hair) and a bottle of hair detangler. So we get everything including her cleaned up and out of the shower. Not two minutes after I pulled her out of the shower and asked if she had to go potty, as she's standing on the stool in front of me she lets loose a gush of pee which splatters all over the stool...all over Hannah and me. At this point I think. Ok she's out to get me today because she is VERY good about saying something or making moves to the toilet if she has to go.
So again we clean up. Off we go to swimming after wrestling her swimsuit and clothes on.
Cute as ever at the pool. Plays with the kids...does well....and then - barfs. Like I've never seen her barf. She's clearly swallowed too much water despite the lessons of trying to keep our mouths closed in the pool. "All done?" she says. Yes. Yes we are love. So we leave.
I make a quick stop at a store on our way home and while there we are chatting away (at this point how many of you are asking what I was thinking making even a brief stop ANYWHERE after all this transpired? The answer....I was up at 4:30 and clearly had not had enough caffeine to prepare me for her wit and antics.) So anyway we're chatting away and I turn around to look at something and two seconds later look back to find Hannah: her shirt COMPLETELY off and in her hands waving it around and running laps around part of the store. I am HORRIFIED! I chase after her and luckily it's a short chase. Catch and try to wrangle her shirt back on her as she's starting in on the pants. Ok we're DONE.
So here we are now. Back home. It is only noon. I feel like today has been 10 days worth already. She has gone down for a nap which she is currently ressiting. I can hear her moving around. She's probably pulled all the clothes out of her drawers and is standing on the ceiling or cutting the screen away to make her escape outside. But she's gotta get tired at some point right? RIGHT?!
If it weren't for the sunsine I'd be inclined to sit and cry. But the sunny weather helps my sanity. I think I need about 7 Twix bars to even begin to right this day though. Ohhh Hannah....

Hannah's Green Thumb
So Hannah REALLY, REALLY loves to be outdoors. It doesn't matter what the weather is, it's all good in her world. Earlier this year I mentioned to my dad (aka Popsie to Hannah) I would really love to start a garden up here so Hannah could help with it and all the fun stuff that goes along with it. So he bought a ton of different seeds and is working on building planter/garden boxes for us since the dogs currently reside in the space where our old garden used to be. Well she LOVES it! Right now the plants and veggies are still in the greenhouse as starts but she is so into watering and checking on the plants...it's super cute. The other day we were out in the larger greenhouse and she, for about 45 minutes kept herself occupied by taking the water hose and watering the plants. (Actually in this spot I don't think there was anything to water but hey what's the difference!) She was QUITE serious about it too. I turned the hose on so it was a trickle and she was mighty proud of herself watering Popsies plants. hahaha She's so stinkin cute! At one point she decided the plants had had enough and started putting water around her feet on purpose so she had a puddle to properly splash in! haha Here are a few pictures from that day:

Omar? Lloyd?

This is the Yak we met last October...I like the name suggestions. I like Clyde...and Sven...seems like there were a few others. But listen to me naming off names like I'm in the process of getting a Yak...oh but they are so cute! (And yes Becca he can come play with the llama and the pygmie goats and the donkey.)
